Here are some fantastic new Punkd shots from the set of New Moon-
On Friday night, the set of New Moon in New Westminster, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson filming a scene in which Kristen goes for a joyride on a motorcycle, then sees Robert/Edward appear as an apparition.
UPDATE: Yes, it is the same mysterious plaid-shirted husky fella that we saw from VanCityAllie’s pics. My guess is stuntman/trainer. Who knows?
Taylor Lautner and Selena Gomez: MegaCute

Gah, these two are so cute together. Lainey has tons of Punkd pics–including a hug that is so cute I can’t even bear to post it, and some very gentlemanly door-holding–
Anyway, Taylor and Selena went out for dinner last night. Two and a half hours. Afterwards they walked back in the rain giggling, awkward but eager, not wanting the night to end.
New Moon in OK Magazine: Jam Band Session

The cast went back to the New Moon star Robert Pattinson’s hotel room for an off-the-cuff jam session with the band Sage & the Dills, who are friends with fellow New Moon co-star Nikki Reed. This is revealed in the upcoming corner-store tabloid OK Magazine, which comes out Thursday–
As Robert, who plays dreamy vampire Edward Cullen, strummed his guitar, on-screen sibling Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) played harmonica while their big-screen sister Nikki Reed (Rosalie) added lyrics she had practiced onstage earlier that evening while serenading cast mate Taylor Lautner.
“We just got really creative,” lead singer Sage tells OK! of the intimate hotel-room session, which sounded like a mix of old-school rock and country as well as Van Morrison, Robert’s favorite rocker. “Everything
blended together really well.”
Sounds fun, but I hope the hotel has good sound proofing! Maybe the New Moon cast should invest in a practice space in Vancouver while they’re in town? Any suggestions on band names? The Grateful Undead? All Hale Breaks Loose? Vampire Weekday? I could go on.

10 Things New Moon Needs to Get Right

Buddy TV has a pretty cool list of things that New Moon needs to get right–I’d say most are pretty spot-on. Here’s a small sampling:
10. Victoria’s plan must loom ominously.
Obviously we shouldn’t know exactly what she’s planning or what she’s up to, but we should know that she is actively pursuing a way to get to Bella.
7. Be careful with Jacob’s heart.
At times, Bella’s interactions with Jacob can seem cruel. The girl is already really depressed and if the viewers are to sympathize with her, they can’t see her as insensitive when it comes to Jacob.
6. Edward and Bella in love.
Although New Moon is told from Bella’s point of view, it’s pretty obvious that we’ll need to see a lot more Edward Cullen than the amount of time he is in the book.
2. The Volturi are straight from a horror film.
The scene with the Volturi needs to be terrifying. There’s a whole lot of talking and scheming but the truth is that the Volturi are extremely dangerous and Bella, Alice, and Edward come very close to being killed.

What Scenes Must Be in New Moon?

Amanda Bell over at the Examiner is quickly becoming ones of my favorite writers on all things New Moon. Just recently she hit the nall on the head on the balancing act that Chris Weitz will have to strike in New Moon, and today she has a lovely article summarizing the scenes the fans want in New Moon if it hopes to be a success. I love the way Amanda describes each in such vivid detail. Here are my favorite three of the scenes she describes–(WARNING: SPOILERS!)–
- Break-up – After Jasper’s near attack, Edward becomes estranged from Bella, and it is heart-breaking to her even then. I dare not describe here what the scene entails for fear of sullying it with my own unworthy descriptions. Let’s just say that the conversation between Bella and Edward which leads him to depart, to the fans, needs to be spot on. Gut-wrenching as it was in the book, you say, so it must be in the movie. You also want to see the disappearance of all things Edward, as promised, from Bella’s possession (another factor which rips Bella Swan apart in the story).
- Motorcycles – Enter Jacob Black and his mechanical skills… not to mention Bella’s motorcycle. Bella, you say, needs to be there while Jacob builds those motorcycles. Bella has a scheme to make Edward’s voice return to her – get in as much danger as possible. Oh, Bella… This is when she gets to know and trust Jacob, though, and Bella is reintroduced to the world, at least in part, and when we get to meet the La Push community. The playfulness and serenity, you say, should be seething from Bella in these scenes. Oh, and we get to see Bella go head first over her motorcycle in a fairly major car crash that she is hardly shaken by (Edward’s voice numbing her senses, of course).
- Showdown Alice versus Jacob – In the book, Alice and Jasper have a verbal spat over who’s the better species. Should make for a very interesting scene.

New Moon Cast Leaves Vancouver for a Bit

Lainey Gossip has another report on the state of the New Moon cast in Vancouver–apparently they’re some of them are headed out of town for a bit now that pre-production is over:
“Last night several cast members went out for dinner including Kristen Stewart and of course Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, and Rachelle Lefevre and Edi Gathegi. Robert Pattinson was not with them. In fact, Robert Pattinson has completed his preparation and is not required at work in Vancouver for another several weeks. Vampire vanishes…
Here he is Jackson Rathbone at Vancouver airport taking off today with his new Jasper hair. Very well worn pair of pants, non? Seems like a confident, easy going, not awkward all the time dude. Good.
Also Jackson’s castmates – Ashley Green with whom he arrived at the airport (there’s a teddy bear in her bag) and was seen on a coffee run the other day… is there something going on? Rachelle yesterday morning with all that amazing hair, and Elizabeth Reaser who has some odd footwear options considering it’s only Starbucks.
Kristen Stewart left Vancouver today too. These are photos of her at the airport. She’s on Kimmel tonight. Hopefully more chatty than she was with Letterman.

Kellan Lutz and Edi Gathegi Birthday Celebration in Las Vegas

New moon starts filming
